Official Makers of the Claddagh Ring
Since 1879 Fallers have been making the now World famous Claddagh Ring. Fallers are credited as official makers of the Claddagh Ring. The manufacturing marks bare the initials S.F in honour of Stephen Faller the founder of the business. The Claddagh is unique to Galway, The Claddagh village was situated at the mouth of the River Corrib. The symbol of two hands clasping loving heart adorned by the crown of loyalty was said to be in common use in the village. The ring was handed down from Mother to Daughter and used in Wedding ceremonies. The King of the Claddagh wore one of the largest Claddagh Rings, the king claddagh ring. The King was used to settle fishing ground disputes and oversea and bless ceremonies in the village. Unfortunatly little of the village remains today.
For over one hundred and thirty seven years Fallers jewellers have been making Claddagh rings in Galway, Ireland. Today Fallers manufacture Claddagh rings in all precious metals in the workshops above the store. Our craftsmen are on hand to adjust the special ring to exact needs. We also customize many claddaghs to the wearers needs.
